Babywearing
What is the frog-leg (M-position) exactly, and why does your baby’s position in the carrier matter?
The M Position
The M-position supports healthy spine and hip development and is the orthopedically recommended posture for your baby throughout the entire babywearing period.
Also called the frog-leg position, it’s a natural posture where your baby’s legs are bent and spread to the sides, similar to their position in the womb. This ensures optimal hip joint alignment, helping prevent hip dysplasia and other issues. Especially in the first months of life, it’s crucial to carry babies in this position, whether in a carrier or your arms, to provide proper hip support and comfort.

The Perfect M-Position
The carrier’s base extends from one knee to the other, with the bottom positioned slightly lower than the knees. This ensures your baby’s bent legs and bottom form a natural M shape when viewed from behind. The hips slide forward, allowing the back to maintain a smooth, ergonomic curve.
